Meet Tim

Having a job that is welcoming, friendly and a place you look forward to going is something we all strive for. In the case of Tim Yetzer, he hit the jackpot with Casey’s in Gaylord. “My favorite thing about my job is my co-workers, making the pizza dough, and the friendly environment.”

In June 2023, Tim started in food prep at Casey’s and is continuing to grow his work skills today. Rachel, Tim’s supervisor, agrees, “I am so proud of all he has learned and how far he has come. We really enjoy him working here.”

When Tim started in the IPS Program, he let his MRCI Employment Specialist, Sandra Schlueter, know that his goal was to find a job working with his hands that allows him independence. Sandra has helped support Tim in his employment journey by bringing him to see Casey’s work environment before applying, helping him apply for the job, communicating with his supervisor, job coaching, and helping arrange transportation.

Transportation is one of the biggest barriers individuals face when finding competitive employment. Tim rides Trailblazer Transit every day to and from work. Casey’s has been very flexible by adjusting Tim’s work hours to fit his bus schedule which has helped him retain his employment.

Sandra believes that the support that Tim has received from MRCI and Casey’s has allowed him to grow in his job and understand all the skills it takes to become a successful employee.

MRCI’s Individual Placement and Support (IPS) program is an evidence-based model of supported employment for people with serious mental illness. IPS helps people find competitive, integrated jobs that match their interests and offers an individualized level of support throughout the employment process.
